This small garden behind a stone house is perched high on a cliff with commanding views of the Maiella mountains to the West, a wide  valley to the south and hilltop town to the East. We cleared old scrub and trees to create this circular lawn, shaping dense bushes around the edges to evoke the crenelations of a look- out tower that mark the cliff edge instead of a fence, planting a pair of ‘cipresso’ trees as a frame.
